CARL VIDANA, LLC. STONEWORK IN SOUTH FLORIDA
This waterfall serves not only as the focal point in this tropical water garden... It's also the "lungs" for the survival of the Japanese Koi in the pond below... The troughs hold built-in mechanical filters and a bio-filter which aid in keeping the water clear and free of harmful chemicals. River Rock and Shale Stone were used in building the coping around the entire pond perimeter, as well as the cascade.
A job in progress! Notice the swim-out, coping, tile edge ( free-form stone below the typical "tile line") and how the stone on the jacuzzi extends to the "floor" of this pool. A mix of Native Coral, California Gold Dust, Cap Coral and Shale stones were used, randomly adding clusters of huge coral formations around the pool's edges for a dramatic effect.
This waterfall close up shows how the mixing of stone types, the horizontal clustering of chip stones, the overall design and layout create a more natural look in conjunction with the stone tile line and pool coping.
